Adam Friedland personality type is ISFP, but he didn't know it at the time, because he fell into the "thoughtless" trap.
"I was a very average student and didn't even realize that I was an introvert and not an extrovert," he said. "I thought I was just a normal human being."
He didn't find out what he was until he went to college and studied cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which is designed to help people uncover their true personality type. He realized he was an introvert and was relieved to know he wasn't alone.
He became a new man, studying all of his strengths and weaknesses, and realizing that he was very good at making people feel better.
"I was able to teach people how to feel better and really got to know them as individuals and as people," Friedland said. "I also realized that I could use that gift to help people on a bigger scale."
Friedland turned that gift into a business and is now a Certified Life Coach and Honors Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
