George Formby (George Hoy Booth), (May 26, 1904 – March 6, 1961) was an English comedian, musician, singer-songwriter, actor, and entertainer. He used his signature banjo-ukulele (banjolele), tongue and cheek humor, and on-stage charisma to rise to prominence starting in 1921. Some of his most well-known songs include: “When I’m Cleaning Windows”, “Leaning on a Lamp Post”, “With My Little Ukulele In My Hand”. Today his legacy is carried on by the George Formby Society.
