Shadows of Yharnam personality type is INTP, and that he is one of the few people who understands her and is there for her. This is a good thing because it means he will speak his mind and not be afraid to admit when he’s wrong. He’s the one who offers her first aid in the final boss fight, which is one of the few examples of this character trait.
One of the other things that I really liked about his character was his obvious discontent with the religious practices in Yharnam. He states to her, “You’ve got to get rid of that mumbo jumbo” and “It doesn’t make any sense.” The fact that he questions the practices is a nice little nod to some of the criticism that games like this receive for the way the monsters are depicted.
There are a couple of other things I didn’t like about him either. He is constantly worried that she is going to be killed by the Yharnamites, even after she kills the first boss. He’s also often dismissive of her, complaining when she tells him she’s poisoned, or that she can’t get up.
