The ISTJ has a hard time being involved with people that are not close to them because they don't have the time to waste on people that are not close to them. They are so strict and so disciplined that they can't let their guard down with people that are not close to them. During the day, the ISTJ is introverted and reserved. They are quiet and can be closed off from others, but they are serious and extremely focused on their job. At night, they are extroverted and friendly.
