Willard Tweedy personality type is INFP, but holy crap the whole concept of the show is so goddamn real and so goddamn heartbreaking and so goddamn hilarious and so goddamn well written and so goddamn infuriating, and also so goddamn perfect.
Almost all of my favorite TV characters are based on people I know or people I’ve met, and it once again seems like Willard is a very real person, and that’s amazing. Basically, Willard is a severely disabled person who can’t walk, and he lives in a group home known as the “Free Home.” His best friend is a man named Benny, and they live together with a bunch of other different people. The show is set in the present day (this is something you will learn as you watch it, because it’s not really shown much), but also takes place decades ago, and all of the characters kind of look like real people who you might have known in high school or college or even the real world.
Anyway, Willard is a really great character because he’s a total asshole who has a soft side for the people around him.
