Hasegawa Kodaka personality type is ISFJ, and he's popular in the school. He's also a secret admirer of Riko's, and he's pretty much the only person who knows that Riko is a girl. But he doesn't say anything to her about it, as he's afraid of her reaction. The two quickly become friends in their second year of high school, where they learn they have a lot in common (as both are usually alone). He has a crush on her, though she doesn't seem to notice. But she does seem to notice the way he looks at her.
The anime follows their relationship in the same manner as the manga did. In the anime, she initially doesn't know whose dog it is, but does later learn it's his. It was cute how she doesn't really care as long as he keeps it up, even though she'd probably prefer it if he didn't.
Hasegawa Kodaka is a very sweet guy who really cares about his friends. He's actually very shy, but he's also very dedicated to his friends and family. He's the kind of guy that everyone wants to have by their side...even if he does sometimes act like a little kid.
