Ziggurat personality type is INTJ, which I’ve found to be one of the most accurate personality types for ascertaining if someone is an atheist. I’ve also found that atheists are much less likely than religious people to be INTJ. The reason for this is not clear, but I suspect that the reserved, analytical, and sometimes even cold attitude that INTJs tend to have toward the world may help them to stay objective about religion, which would help them to perceive its flaws more clearly.
Extraversion
While there is no reliable indicator of extraversion in the Big Five (at least, not yet), extraverts are more likely to be atheists than introverts. Atheists are also much more likely to be extroverted than introverted. The reason for this likely has to do with the same cognitive function I mentioned above: their tendency to see the world as objective, and thus they are able to see beyond the details of religion. The fact that atheism is correlated with extraversion is also consistent with the idea that atheism is a rational choice for an extraverted person. For example, introverts are more likely to be depressed, so it makes sense that they would be less likely to prefer atheism.
