In Pokémon Adventures, Claydol's character was mostly static from its mainstream appearances, being one of the few Pokémon whose personality hadn't changed between Diamond and Pearl. However, it was revealed that it was capable of feeling in A New Battle Begins..., when it was revealed that it was the one who found Misty's Goldeen and made it angry. With its newfound ability, Claydol was able to sense the incoming danger and give Misty the opportunity to escape.
