Origin
Magikarp first appeared in the original Pokémon games Red and Green. Magikarp are weak Pokémon that are only capable of using the attack Splash. When playing Red or Green, if a player tries to catch Magikarp, it will escape instead. The player then has the choice to either throw a Poké Ball at it or run away from it. Magikarp is attracted to shiny objects and will try to follow them around. When the player runs away from Magikarp, it will follow them for a set distance before disappearing. If the player throws a Poké Ball at it, it will become angry and use Splash. The most notable thing about Magikarp is its crying and yelling when it is tired and when it is fully grown.
Magcargo's internal body temperature can reach over 18,000 °F (10,000 °C), causing it to evaporate water on contact. Flames circulate throughout its body, occasionally spouting through cracks in its shell. While its shell is brittle enough to be shattered with a slight touch, Magcargo can reform its body by dipping itself in magma. It can be found in mountainous regions, and has been living in volcano craters for tens of thousands of years.
