This is because they are very good at coming up with new solutions to problems (and to situations in general), and they are excellent at working out what the problems are in the first place, and finding ways to solve them.
This "problem solving tendency" is probably what helps make ENTPs so popular in our society. ENTPs are usually good at finding new solutions to old problems (which is why they are so good at innovation), and innovative thinking is a key to long term survival for a species.
