Path of Radiance
Jace is first mentioned by Enra, who reports that he has joined the Blue Lions. The Blue Lions are an elite group of soldiers led by Tormod, which is meant to protect Princess Elincia from harm. When the Blue Lions are attacked by an army of Daein soldiers led by General Zelgius, he is knocked unconscious and captured. At that point, he learns that Princess Elincia has been captured by the Daein army and he decides to rescue her.
Enra shows him the captive princess and tells him to rescue her, but he does not hear him due to his injuries. Enra orders the others to return to the castle while he stays behind with Jace.
Spoink is a gray, pig-like Pokémon. It has dark, circular eyes, a large gray nose, and small ears. It has stubby arms and possesses no hind legs. Motion is achieved by bouncing on its spring-like tail. The bouncing has a vital function, in that it keeps its heart beating. Even while it is sleeping, it continues to bounce. It wears a pearl produced by Clamperl on top of its head, which amplifies its psychic powers. Spoink will be weakened without a pearl, and always searches for bigger pearls. In the anime it was shown to easily mistake other round objects as its pearl. It lives in mountainous areas. It likes to eat mushrooms that grow underground.
