Dominique “Domino” Derval personality type is ISFP, as well as the type of the main character in the novel, Domino. Yet, it is not Domino who “loves” her family, but rather Domino’s mother, who has a “domino” personality. The domino metaphor is a common one in a number of novels. In a case study by the late David Keirsey, the word domino is associated with ISFPs. In one of the most famous novels of John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath, the title refers to an ISFP. In the classic novel 1984 by George Orwell, there is a character named Winston who is also an ISFP. In his book The Case of the Lone Wolf, author Andrew Bardasoff mentions a custom of playing dominoes as a metaphor for the domineering nature of an ISFP.
