While it is true that ISTPs do trust their intuitions more than other types, they are not more trustworthy than other types. In fact, they are not more trustworthy than the INTPs, who also believe they trust their intuitions more than most people.
The issue is that simply trusting your intuitions is not enough to know how to act on them. We have to trust our intuitions with respect to what is true in the real world, not just in our heads. The INTP is the type most likely to understand this.
