I discovered my personality types as an adult, as my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. As I began to work with her, I realized that she had many of the traits of an ISFP. The first time I saw them was when she tried to make a “gift basket” for me. She liked to make things out of natural materials, and would gather them from nature. She would then make baskets, or other objects, that she thought I would like. The problem was that she had no idea what I wanted, or what I liked. I realized that she had no idea how to make a gift. She didn’t know whether to choose something that would be practical for me, or something that would be beautiful. She also told me that she thought I was very artistic.
