Kami Hidetsuna tells the story of a young officer who is part of the IJN, the Japanese navy during WWII. The show starts out with him as a cadet and goes through his life as an officer. Nothing much happens in the beginning, it's mostly about his interaction with his family and his sea life. The show has a lot of talking, but the talking is very interesting. I like the way the show does the talking. It's very clever and old school. The show uses a lot of puns and other word play, some of which I do not understand. It's not flashy, but it's very well written. The humor is fairly subtle, but you can tell when something funny has happened.The characters are pretty well developed. They have good personalities and are written well. They are all interesting, but are all very different.
