Lily Charles personality type is ISTJ, which is the same as mine. (I’m a decently knowledgeable ISTJ.)
Another ISTJ I know, who is also the mother of my friend Rachel, is currently trying to get her daughter to start taking dance classes. The dance instructor has been trying to get Rachel to start for a while, but Rachel was resistant. She refused to take dance because she thought it would be too difficult (for some reason).
Now, though, Rachel is starting to see that dance is not only easy, but fun and relaxing. She doesn’t want to let her mother down by saying no to this new opportunity. She’s already started going, and her mother is so proud of her.
Like Lily Charles, Rachel doesn’t have a problem telling her mother that she needs some free time for herself. She’s ready to start the dance classes, but she still needs time for herself before she can commit to it for long.
For Rachel, that might mean playing her guitar for a little while. It might mean spending time with her friends. It might mean coloring or reading or watching a movie. It might mean doing absolutely nothing at all.
