Sensing is the first step in the method: Grubba evaluates the person with his senses. The way he does this is by observing their physical appearance. There are no specific rules for what is or is not considered attractive. Grubba is not interested in superficial features of the body – such as attractive hair colours or hairstyles – but only those that can be seen with the naked eye. For instance, Grubba does not care if a person's clothing is so tight that you can see each individual stitch on their clothes, but Grubba would not consider a person attractive when their outfit is too loose, so that their belly hangs out of their shirt.
