Basil Hallward personality type is INFP, which makes him a pretty unique character. INFPs are known for their inner struggle between their emotions and what they think. They struggle with wanting to be true to themselves and their emotions and at the same time they also know that they can’t be who they want to be if they don’t follow the social norms. This is why INFPs try to avoid conflict and just follow the social norms while hiding their true selves. However, this doesn’t work too well for them because they still get lonely and feel like they don’t belong in any group. They get ignored and feel like they don’t get to express their feelings. INFPs seek friendship and love from others but they don’t want to use these relationships to get their needs met and get depressed when others don’t give them the attention that they need. As a result, INFPs often feel like they don’t fit in and start to isolate themselves from others.
