Tortuga HQ personality type is ISFJ, which is the “Protector”. I’d like to think I’m an Artist, but I’m not sure my artistic talents are good enough to warrant my MBTI type. I’d like to think I’m a Genius, but I can’t remember the last time I did anything innovative or creative. I do think I am an Explorer, so maybe it should be ISFP. But “Artistic” and “Intellectual” are not the same thing. As you can see, this is a tough category.
What is interesting about my personality type is that it seems to have been formed in response to the environment of New Orleans.
I grew up in a house with a history of family members who were artists and intellectuals. It seemed that nothing was too abstract for them. They would talk about philosophy and religion and art and literature and science and history. We went to the symphonic orchestra, ballet, opera, museums, and art exhibits. My family had a library of books and magazines and art supplies.
