Lux personality type is ENFP, and I’ve been wondering: is it still possible for someone with an ENFP to get good at “acting like an INFJ”? I’ve noticed that people seem to become more INFJ-like over time, and this makes sense if the INFJ is their true personality type.
And there’s a difference between acting like your true personality type, and being your true personality type.
The most famous example of this is probably Sherlock Holmes. He’s pretty much the archetypal “act like an INFJ” character. He’s eccentric, he’s socially awkward, he’s neurotic, he’s lonely, he has no friends, he has no romantic interest for long periods of time, he has no interest in people. He’s not “himself” in any way. All of this is consistent with INFJ, but it’s not particularly consistent with ENFP. ENFPs are social, they have lots of friends, they have lots of interests, they have romantic partners they are interested in.
INFJs are notoriously self-effacing for this reason.
