Introverted Thinking vs. Extroverted Judging
The INTP personality is characterized by their desire to understand the world around them. Essentially, they are logical thinkers who use data to gather information and understand how things work. They are by nature curious and want to find the truth behind things.
As they gather data, INTPs create theories and sometimes even scientific hypotheses about subjects they are unfamiliar with. This type of thinking is known as “introverted thinking” because it is “mental activity involving inner reflection or deliberation” (Gifford, 2011). It is an inward-directed process that is somewhere between thinking and feeling.
