Kira Carsen is named after my mother-in-law, who died earlier this year. She was a wonderful woman and my husband was her only child. He’s named after her sister, too.
What is the last name of your husband’s family?
Carsen is his family name. It’s Irish. His family was raised on an island off the coast of Ireland that used to be called Tory Island. They moved to Long Island when they got older, and my husband’s paternal grandparents settled in this town. They moved to New Jersey when he was growing up.
How did you meet? What happened?
I met my husband online when he was in law school at Baylor University. He was studying for the LSAT at the time.
