Like many ENTPs, I’ve always been fascinated by the world of computing, the inner workings of the hardware and software, the design of things that work, and the ability to make things do what you want them to do. It is an ongoing quest for me to understand how everything works, what makes it tick, and how I can make it do what I want it to do. This is in my nature.
My first interest in computers was in the 80s when I discovered the Commodore 64. It was my first experience with an ‘all-in-one’ computer. You had the computer, the keyboard, the monitor, the cassette drive, the printer, and an infinitely expandable memory. Later on, when I got my first PC, I discovered that I could play games, but when I wanted to start writing software, or programs that would run on that computer, I found that my limited command of the C programming language would only get me so far. I had to learn assembly language and learn how to write code that was not just for games. This led me down a long road of self-education that continues to this day.
