I don't know if I'd say everything I'm planning is "planning." I have a plan, but I have no idea how it's going to turn out. I have more of an idea of where it's going to lead me, but I have no idea how to get there. That has always been the hard part for me.

I can't imagine what it'd be like to be able to see the end result of my journey. I never did get that. I never did get that feeling of satisfaction that everyone else gets, even people who've done stuff that has changed their lives. I never got that feeling.
I did get satisfaction out of doing things for other people, or for my family. That was very gratifying. But it wasn't enough for me. I wanted to get more satisfaction out of it. I wanted to get more of an understanding of what it is I'm doing. That's why I ended up working for the government.
I think the only way you can really get that is through long-term relationships with other people and through the work itself.
