The Dohko Kōryaku (堂独楽, "Unique and Noble Spirit") is a verse written by the priestess of the Shinto shrine of Ise Jingū, Empress Jingū (or "Emperor Jingū"), in order to identify the spirit of Emperor Ōjin of Japan. It was written down in the year 1188. The verse reads:
百年百年 永き神とし 神のるる世界に
１のたったひとりの
神の精霊たちに 敬意を抱いているために
有名な神が現れるということは
神はそんなたったひとりの者であるということであるように
