    Monty
    INTJ

    INTJ (5w6)

Monty personality type is INTJ, but the differences are very subtle. (I'm not saying it is impossible that someone with a strong INFJ or INFP personality type could have developed a "Monty" personality type. I'm just saying that it's less likely.)

A Monty personality type is a combination of the INTJ and ISTJ personality types, where the INTJ traits are emphasized. There is a high level of both intellect (INTJ) and personal responsibility and organization (ISTJ). People with "Monty" personalities tend to be extremely interested in public policy and politics.

In the 1970s and 1980s, there was a lot of interest in Monty personality type, because of a small group of researchers who studied the characteristics of political leaders. One of those researchers was Monty Falk (pseudonym). Falk had a PhD in psychology. He studied the political leadership of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and President Richard Nixon.

Falk's research concluded that people with "Monty" personalities tend to be more effective political leaders. For example, Monty personality types tend to be better at thinking through complex problems and making decisions under pressure.
