I think that the above description is accurate, but I don’t think that ISTP should be considered an idealistic personality. I think that the ISTP personality actually lacks idealism in its purest form, because its idealism is often expressed through practicality and pragmatism. It is important to remember that the ISTP personality type is also highly practical, and while its idealism may sometimes be expressed in practical terms, it always remains idealistic to some extent.
While ISTP is an idealist in that it has a greater focus on the future than the present, it still tends to act more in the present than in the future.
