Drill personality type is ISTP, and in the first half of my career this was the worst thing possible.
I was desperate to have a dominant side, to have something that I could be known for – and this is something that I struggled with as an ISTP.
I would do things one way, then do things another way, then do things a third way, and this confusion and inconsistency became the hallmark of my life.
I would be the “Fun Boss” at work, or I would be the “IRS Boss” at work, or I would be the “Compelling Speaker” at work – but it was all confusion.
You can’t be all things to all people all of the time.
And I’m not saying you can’t be all things to all people all of the time – but you need to know who you are at your core, and you need to know your value.
You need to know your value, so that you can serve it to others – because you don’t want to be serving them some of the time, and serving them something else of the time.
