What is the personality type of Industrial Metal? Which MBTI personality type best fits? Personality type for Industrial Metal from Music Genres and what is the personality traits.
Industrial Metal personality type is ISTP, which is a big surprise since I am a very sociable, gregarious INFJ. This is why it's been so hard for me to penetrate the metal scene. I've tried a lot of different things to get past the barrier of the stereotypical image of a metalhead. The first was my appearance. I figured that if I looked like a poser, I would be accepted as a poser, but I still didn't get far. The second was my attitude. I was constantly trying to tell people what to listen to, or what they were doing wrong. These attempts failed. The third is my personality. To help with this, I have constantly read about ISTPs, and I constantly try to understand why I am so different. When any of the other personality types ask me how I got into metal, what they say is that it's because I'm "bitter" or "angry". They don't understand that I am just trying to understand my true identity.
Now, I know what you're thinking: "This guy has too many different ideas about his personality type. He is trying to be all things to all people." And you would be partially correct.
Industrial metal is the fusion of heavy metal and industrial music, typically employing repeating metal guitar riffs, sampling, synthesizer or sequencer lines, and distorted vocals. Prominent industrial metal acts include Ministry, Godflesh, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, Fear Factory and Nine Inch Nails. Industrial metal developed in the late 1980s, as industrial and metal began to fuse into a common genre. Industrial metal did well in the early 1990s, particularly in North America, with the success of groups such as Nine Inch Nails and Pitchshifter, but its popularity began to fade in the latter half of the 1990s.
