Interactive Cinema personality type is INTJ, which puts me in the minority. As an INTJ, I’m not too surprised that I’m a film fan. But as a film fan, I’m pretty surprised that I tend to fall more on the side of the INTJ side. I’ve been asked by many people whether I consider myself a director or a writer/director, and my answer is always the same: “I’m a director, but I’d rather be a writer/director.” This is why I have a problem with this “director/writer/director” thing. I consider myself a writer/director because that’s what I’ve done since I first got a job as a film editor.
I was always the one who had the idea for a film, and it was up to other people to finish it. In high school, I wrote a couple of scripts with friends, but I never really realized that anybody would want to make those scripts into films. In fact, I never even thought about going to film school until years later. However, going to film school doesn’t necessarily mean that you will end up being a director.
Interactive cinema tries to give an audience an active role in the showing of movies. Another newer definition of interactive cinema is a video game which is a hybrid between participation and viewing, giving the player – or viewer, as it were – a strong amount of control in the characters' decisions. It is compared to interactive film.
