Stay on Main (formerly known as the Cecil Hotel, Hotel Cecil, and informally the Cecil) is a low-budget hotel in downtown Los Angeles, located at 640 S. Main Street. It was founded in 1927 and has 700 rooms. Despite its checkered history, the hotel is being renovated and remodeled to offer both hotel rooms and residential units.

As the area in which the Cecil is located fell into decline, suicides and violent deaths began to become frequent on the premises. The first documented suicide of the Cecil was recorded in 1931. The number of suicides increased during the 1940s and 1950s. By 1960, residents referred to Cecil as "the Suicide."

In 2013, Cecil (then renamed "Stay on Main", although it still kept the original "Hotel Cecil" sign as well as the old advertising on the side of the building) was once again the focus of attention with the renowned case of the death of a young Canadian named Elisa Lam, whose naked body was found in one of the water tanks on the roof of the hotel.
