What is the difference between the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Enneagram?
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Enneagram can give you different information about a person than simply their type. The MBTI is a questionnaire that analyzes a person’s preferences based on four letters: Introversion (I), Extraversion (E), Sensing (S), and Thinking (T). The Enneagram is a system of nine personality categories organized into three groups: the self, the other, and the world. This system of nine categories also involves psychological dimensions, but the way it organizes those dimensions differs from the way the Myers-Briggs describes them. The Enneagram does not use only four letters but rather a whole system of nine letters, which are arranged in three groups, or triads.
