What were your first memories of Magic?
I got my first core set in 1995. I was 6. My brother gave me the game because he was sick of me wanting to play all the time. He had received it in a school package, but he didn't like Magic. He put it in my room and told me that if I was good at it, he would give it back to me.
I was immediately hooked. My brother gave me a few other cards at around the same time (Mountain Goat, Raging River) and when he came home from school with his own cards, I asked him if I could trade him my cards for his. He agreed, and I ended up with a bunch of cards.
I didn't play Magic until I was in high school, around 2001? It was always in the back of my mind though. I had an uncle who played in college.
