High Max personality type is ISTJ, not ISFJ.
My interpretation is that this is an example of the “unreliable interpreter” phenomenon, which I discuss in depth in my book.
Here’s what I mean by that:
When confronted with the facts, the “unreliable interpreter” will often contest them or give other explanations for them than what the facts actually are.
This is why the “unreliable interpreter” often comes across as so totally obnoxious. He/she can’t accept that you are telling him/her the truth, even though you are (and the facts are!).
The “unreliable interpreter” will always offer an alternative explanation for what you are telling him/her. Of course he/she cannot be completely wrong, since he/she knows it all!
You can test this out yourself if you like, by asking someone who you perceive to be an “unreliable interpreter” to explain something to you. That way you can see if you are right to think he/she is an “unreliable interpreter”.
