What’s a Mandrill?
I’m a dog person, and a lot of people refer to me as a mandrill because I’m always jumping around and being loud. But what does a mandrill actually look like? It gets kind of complicated, so let’s start from the beginning.
A mandrill is a short-limbed, long-tailed monkey species. The word mandrill comes from the Kongo language of Central Africa and means “master of the fields.” Of course, we use that to describe these guys now.
Originally, mandrills were thought to be the ancestors of the baboons and the mangabeys. Their behavior and appearance is similar to those two species, which is why we use the word “mandrill” as a blanket term for all the members of the Mandrillidae family.
As you can see, they’re very similar to chimpanzees (orangutans, as well), but they’re smaller and have longer tails.
Spark Mandrill is a mandrill-based Reploid. He was once a Maverick Hunter in the 17th Elite Unit, but joined Sigma's rebellion and became Maverick. He is very reckless and dim-witted, and followed Sigma out of blind ignorance.
