At one point in the movie, Jake becomes upset when he notices that his best friend, Thomas, has been acting very much like an ESFP. He points it out to his mentor, Ms. Conductor, who claims that their friendship could be strained. Jake, however, believes that Thomas is simply "acting the part" of his best friend. When Thomas is upset about yet another "badge" incident, Jake tries to help him by telling him that he should be sad about the accident, but not about the badge itself.
In the climax of the film, Thomas (the ESFP) is the one who solves the problem and saves the friends. Jake's response to Thomas's actions is to admit that he is not as good as he thought he was and his story will be more exciting than Thomas's.
