Doug Wilson personality type is ENTP, the other is ENHP.
I’m not sure if I should agree or disagree with this assessment. On the one hand, it’s pretty clear that the other two people in the room know a lot more about football than I do. On the other hand, I don’t really think they know a lot more about football than I do.
(EDIT: Just to be clear, I’m not saying that I know nothing about football, I’m saying that they know more than me. Here is an article about how to talk about football with someone who does not know football. I don’t really agree with everything in this article but it does contain some useful ideas.)
Anyway, ENTPs are regarded as “the intellectual type” and are quite common in Silicon Valley. Paul Graham is an ENTP, for example, and I assume that most of the people at Y Combinator are ENTPs. These people tend to be very articulate and persuasive, and also quite capable of expressing complex ideas in a way that is easy for everyone to understand.
ENTPs are also very good at brainstorming.
