Himeko Sasaki is a fictional character from the anime and manga series Fullmetal Alchemist. She is a young woman raised by the Amestrian State Military and its successors to be a soldier in the Fullmetal Alchemist Corps.
The anime, which was created by Hiromu Arakawa and produced by Bones, aired for 49 episodes in 2003. The manga has been published in Japan by Square Enix since 2001. It won the 2002 Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen. It was adapted into a 53-episode anime television series produced by Bones and A-1 Pictures from 2003 to 2004, which is licensed in North America by FUNimation Entertainment. A second anime television series, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, aired from 2009 to 2010. A live-action film adaptation directed by Fumihiko Sori and starring Ryōsuke Yamada, Ryōsuko Saki, and Shigeru Chiba premiered on May 27, 2010. An animated film adaptation titled Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos was released in 2013.
