As we have seen, Jyn Erso was a very strong-willed and independent woman, which makes her a perfect fit for the ENFJ personality type. It is well known that Rogue One is not going to be a typical Star Wars movie. The Force Awakens, in particular, was a very “Star Wars” movie. Rogue One is a spin-off, a prequel and has different creators, different characters and different story lines.
It is also worth mentioning that Rogue One is a war movie and the Jedi don’t feature in it. The Rebel Alliance are only mentioned in the film as part of the story, not as a central theme. It is therefore not expected that Jyn would have been a Jedi and I don’t think that it would have been plausible for her to be a Jedi in this movie as she would have been a minor character.
It is also worth noting that Rogue One introduces the Rebellion.
