Mohammad Javad is an Iranian-American corporate executive, consultant, political activist, and the founder of the American Iranian Council.
Born in Tehran in 1952, Javad is the son of prominent Iranian-American attorney and author Mohammad Javad Jahromi (1920–2012). He lived in Tehran until he was in his early teens in the 1960s, when his family moved to the United States. He is the oldest of three sons; his brothers are also involved in Iranian-American leadership.
He attended Princeton University, graduating with a B.A. in 1974. He later earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1977. From 1976 until 1983, he was vice president of marketing for the Square D Company, now part of Cooper Industries, one of North America's largest manufacturers of electric motors and generators. From 1983 to 1990, he was vice president of marketing for the National Steel Corporation, now part of United States Steel Corporation, one of North America's largest producers of steel products. From 1990 to 1995, he was vice president of marketing for the American Stove Company, now part of StoveWorks.
