In 1941, Lee Iacocca took a job as a sales representative for the Ford Motor Company. In 1945, he became an engineer for the company, and in 1947 he joined the sales department. In 1948, Lee Iacocca asked Henry Ford II to help him set up a new car division for Ford. But Henry Ford II rejected the proposal, and instead offered Lee Iacocca a position in the accounting department. However, Lee Iacocca didn’t accept it. Instead, he left the company and started his own company, called Iacocca Motors.
In 1955, Lee Iacocca founded the Chrysler Corporation. In 1961, he became CEO of Chrysler. In 1965, he became president of Chrysler.
