Diego Grossi personality type is ESTP, but I think ENTJ is a better fit for him, since he seems to be a bit more eager-to-please and ambitious at times. In any case, I don’t think the ESTP is as important as the auxiliary function, which I think is probably INFJ at least.
I think his strictness and lack of flexibility are a product of his auxiliary.
In Seinfeld, when Jerry is talking with George, he says “It’s my turn to take the initiative.”
I think this is a good description of his attitude with regards to his job. He wants to be perfect in everything he does. He wants to make everything exactly how he wants it, “to the T.”
The problem with that is that he doesn’t consider the consequences of things that he does. For example, when he was in Japan, he gave up his chance to be in charge of the Japanese office in order to go back to the United States with his family. He was so dedicated to being perfect in his job, that he didn’t consider the impact of his decision on his family.
