This is actually a pretty solid game, but it's one that you'll probably only keep for the original version. The PSP port is much more demanding than the original, so if you're looking to play the game with the highest possible graphics, you'll need to go for that.
It's important to note that the PSP port has some pretty major changes to the game-play. It's not just the graphics that are upgraded, but there are some significant changes to the gameplay as well. For example, the limited ammunition for your main weapon is replaced with infinite bullets, which makes it feel like you don't need to plan at all. There's also an option to make your characters carry their own ammo (which is much more realistic) and another option to make them carry extra/extra heavy weapons (which means you'll be able to carry more powerful weapons). The game is much easier now, but it's still quite enjoyable.
If you liked the gameplay of Valkyria Chronicles on the 360, then you might like this version even more.
