Nero Claudius personality type is ESFP, but I would argue that Nero genuinely suffers from a grandiose and/or paranoid form of ESFP. While some ESFPs can be arrogant and impatient, Nero's self-importance and self-delusion is so great as to be pathological. Nero is a man who has his own place, his own time, and his own life. He is the grand artiste, the artiste supreme, the greatest genius of all time. The fact that this man is surrounded by sycophants and flatterers only further fuels his megalomania. This is not to say that Nero is not intelligent, however. He is quite the polymath, an accomplished writer, historian, philosopher, and politician. He is also an excellent orator.
Like all ESFPs, Nero is charismatic, charming, and good at making friends. He also has the type's natural curiosity. But it is Nero's grandiose sense of self that sets him apart from other ESFPs. When Nero is faced with something novel or surprising, he experiences an overwhelming desire to understand it. He will delve into it deeply, often with an obsessiveness that borders on obsession itself.
