I can't help but notice that your idea of a "mirror" is a bit... skewed.
For instance, you state "Break the mirror and all will be doomed." But how is this accomplished, exactly? Does the mirror crumble into scattered shards, or does the mirror break into a million pieces? When I look into a mirror, I see a reflection of myself, and that is enough. I don't see an awful monster, or a spooky demon. Also, I don't see a monster whose face can change out of a whim, or a demon that can turn your reflection into a real monster. I only see a reflection of myself.
And of course, I have no clue what exactly this horrible monster looks like anyway. I have no idea of what the "mirror monster" looks like, or what it does. The only thing I can say is that it is probably very large and scary.
