Goats are a species of animal found in Red Dead Redemption. Goats are one of the oldest domesticated species. They are used for their milk, meat, hair, and skins over much of the world. In the twentieth century they also gained in popularity as pets. Farmers keep them for easy access to milk and meat, primarily, and also for their dung, which was used as fuel, and their bones, hair, and sinew for clothing, building, and tools. Domestic goats were generally kept in herds that wandered on hills or other grazing areas, often tended by goatherds who were frequently children or adolescents, similar to the more widely known shepherd. Goats come in 3 different colors: white, black, and brown.
