As a child, Isabel was always a caring, nurturing presence in her family’s life. She would often care for her younger siblings, cook for the family and lend a helping hand to the parents. Isabel was the type to be seen as the “mother hen” of the family, who would do whatever was needed to ensure everyone else was happy and well. As she matured, Isabel’s need to care for others became more apparent – she would often go out of her way to help family and friends in any way she could, even if it wasn’t necessary.
Isabel’s belief in the importance of “right and wrong” was strong throughout her childhood. She would often discipline herself when she made a mistake, or did something wrong or even thoughtlessly. Isabel didn’t believe in being “do-gooders” – she believed that doing things for others was good enough. The most important thing to Isabel was being a good person in the eyes of other people.
