Gordie Howe personality type is ISTJ, which is the least extroverted of the 16 types. He was an introvert who kept to himself, but he's also known for his dry humor.

Like Fergie, he was really tough. He was tough on the ice, but he was tough off the ice too. And he was a real team player. He didn't care what anyone else thought about him. He was just tough to deal with.

That's the way he was with his children too. He taught them that you have to be tough no matter what. He said to Wayne, "You've got to be tough. If you want to make it in this world, you've got to be tough."

He was really tough on Wayne. Wayne would come home from games injured and Gordie would say, "Are you all right?" He'd go out of his way to make sure Wayne wasn't injured, but he wouldn't let him do anything he wouldn't let the other kids do either. He made sure Wayne knew that if he wanted to be a hockey player, he had to play hard.

Gordon Howe was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. From 1946 to 1980, he played 26 seasons in the National Hockey League and six seasons in the World Hockey Association; his first 25 seasons were spent with the Detroit Red Wings. Nicknamed "Mr. Hockey", Howe is often considered the most complete player to ever play the game and one of the greatest of all time. At his retirement, his 801 goals, 1049 assists, and 1850 total points were all NHL records that stood until they were broken by Wayne Gretzky, who himself has been a major champion of Howe's legacy. A 23-time NHL All-Star, he still holds the NHL record for seasons played, and his all-time NHL games played record of 1,767 was only surpassed in 2021 by Patrick Marleau. In 2017, Howe was named one of the "100 Greatest NHL Players". Howe made his NHL debut with the Red Wings in 1946.
