Mrs. Whatcott is an example of a "Trolley Problem". Her logic is based on the idea that children should be seen and not heard, so she is completely opposed to allowing them to run wild in her garden. She also argues against the idea that people should be able to do what they want with their children's toys because it would be wrong for them to do so.

When the group go over to Mrs. Whatcott's house, they first see a trolley and Mrs. Whatcott and her husband arguing over whether they should turn it on. They decide not to turn it on and proceed to talk about children.

Afterwards, they see a child's trolley and Mrs. Whatcott insists that they go inside and play with it. At first, Peter refuses to go inside as he wants to play with it himself, but eventually he agrees. However, he does not like it and leaves the room. Mrs. Whatcott then sees a note from Peter and argues with her husband that they should go and get him.

Susan Pevensie is a fictional character in C. S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia series. Susan is the elder sister and the second eldest Pevensie child. She appears in three of the seven books—as a child in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian, and as an adult in The Horse and His Boy. She is also mentioned in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Last Battle. During her reign at the Narnian capital of Cair Paravel, she is known as Queen Susan the Gentle or Queen Susan of the Horn. She was the only Pevensie that survived the train crash on Earth which sent the others to Narnia after The Last Battle. In Disney's live-action films, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian, Susan is portrayed by actress Anna Popplewell. Actress Sophie Winkleman portrays an older Susan at the end of the first film.
