I felt a little ashamed of my reaction to Waking Up In Vegas, but I had forgotten how much I enjoyed her first book. She’s a natural born story teller and knows how to make a story interesting and entertaining. Her stories are both heartfelt and funny. I love hearing her laugh, it’s so contagious.
I read this book on a flight from Atlanta to Seattle, and that’s when I began to cry. I’m not sure that the book made me cry, but I did get a pit in my stomach and a lump in my throat. I was a wreck for weeks after reading this book, and I felt so lost, so alone, and so sorry for myself. It was a bad reaction, but at the same time it felt good to be so raw and so vulnerable, so close to the edge of my own mental health.
